I have a small case load today. Just.... get the kids off to school. Come home to start on laundry. Pick Reagan up lunch, grab her from school, take her for a CT scan of her sinuses then back to school. Come home to work on laundry. Pick Kennedy up from school, take her downtown for MRI. Race to pick up kids from school. Home again with the laundry. Walked to meet Karrigan after choir practice. Nolan just got home from school and needs to finish a power point project for school, due tomorrow. Need to start dinner, get Reagan going on her homework and then have her shower. Then off to a PTA meeting and first grade program. Then home to get the rest of the kids showered and finish up homework (and laundry). Good for me....bad for my checking account... Randy didn't have any jobs today and came home from work very early. So, I gotta run. My theme song is below.
"Even when I'm a mess, I still wear a vest with an "S" on my chest..... I'm a Superwoman".
Randy and I DID get to go on a date Saturday! Two of the kids stayed with friends and we hired a teenage babysitter for the other three. It all worked about wonderfully and we had a nice break.
Sunday we made another trip to the Ft. Worth Zoo, no Grandpa did not go. lol It was Robbi, Shayli, Shayli's friend Riley, Nolan, Nolan's friend Riley (yes two), Kennedy, Reagan and myself. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed the day.
Today was a school holiday. It was beautiful outside and a good day was had by all. Made a trip to Sams for necessities early in the day, then a trip to Walmart this evening for a few other things. The kids played, played, played! Reagan emptied the dishwasher for the first time EVER today. And Kennedy had trash duty for the very first time. Both of them did a great job.
Markus had not thrown up for TEN DAYS....until this morning. It was not his usual, he didn't throw up in the wee hours, but at 7:00am when we were awake, but not yet up for the day. Then he continued to vomit until late morning. :( He didn't eat until this evening. But he has been his sweet, happy self! I will continue to give him the RX, but have called his pediatrician and Scottish Rite to let them know that we are ready to move to the next step. I am SO, SO SAD about this. I do NOT want him to have "testing". Even though I don't know what it will be, I know it won't be fun. And I was hoping he could avoid them.
Reagan is really struggling right now. If you pray, please pray for her. She has so many abandonment issues that really plague her. She has (barely manageable) ADHD that makes life difficult. She has breathing issues that cause her not to sleep well. She is just a mess! I love Reagan. I mean.... really love her. She is extremely lovable!! But she chooses not to show you that side most of the time. I want so much for her to be HEALTHY and happy.
I cut Markus's hair tonight. It is SHORT. Karrigan was mad at me. lol Reagan said he looked cute. It's just so hard to give him a cut, I figured I needed to make it last! I think he is adorable, no matter what!
Have a blessed week!! Be grateful for what you have. :)
Markus had Spina Bifida clinic on Tuesday. He had a great check up! He had an MRI that shows his ventricles (brain) are unchanged. He had an x-ray that showed his bowels are not backed up. They were happy with his diet, his bowel program, his growth, his development, etc. We are still trying to get to the bottom of his night vomiting. He is taking a new medicine and so far he has not thrown up. I PRAY it can be this simple!!!
Mac, waiting for his MRI, watching Barney.
Fell asleep after screaming through his MRI and xray.
My lunch! Have you ever seen hospital food this yummy? Made to order- turkey, spinach, provolone, pesto mayo on grilled sourdough. I wish I had another one right now!
Karrigan has been sick with a stomach bug. She toughed it out on Tuesday, didn't want to miss TAKS. She stayed home from school today after puking several times on MY CARPET last night. I think she is over the worst of it and will go to school tomorrow.
Kennedy goes to the Orthodontist for the first time tomorrow. Her teeth are a mess!! I imagine it will take several YEARS to get them straight. Oh well, she is worth it!
Mac and I had breakfast with Grandpa this morning. Grandpa is so nice to chat with! He has an important doctor's appointment tomorrow. My Aunt Sherry came in to town to go with him. He will go back to Oklahoma with her this weekend. They are going to Branson next week, he can't wait!
I'm hoping to go on a date this Saturday. I have put feelers out for babysitters. If you are reading this and I haven't asked you.....CAN YOU BABYSIT? lol
OHMYGOSH! I haven't written about my awesome April Fools Day pranks! Ok, so while Randy was sleeping, I changed all the clocks in the house to an hour LATER. I switched his alarm clock, the clock in the bathroom, his phone, the microwave, the oven and the clock in his work truck. He missed his alarm and woke up in a panic. He showed up for work an hour early! IT WORKED!!! LOL LOL ~giggling to myself~ I can't believe it worked! He made it all the way to work! All he could say was "I'm sleepy!". Then, I went to Karrigan's school and told them she was leaving for the day. After she gathered up her stuff and got the rush of bailing out of school before noon, she got to the office to find a note I left that said "APRIL FOOLS! ~Mom. She had to go back to class and unpack! lol Darn I was goooood!
We had a full but good weekend. Randy was in Dumas Arkansas with the CWF, doing a show there. I was at home with my 5, plus one kid. But I have to say that they were all really good. Saturday we had a soccer game and then a softball game. Markus's birth father and his family came out to show their support and spent some time with Big Mac. We went to Saturday evening church service then out to dinner with our friends, the Banks (and Cami). Karrigan spent the night with Shayli. Sunday we packed a big picnic lunch and met the Banks for food and fun! lol We played ball, flew kites, played with the dogs and sunbathed. Well, I got sunBURNED. Note to self.... spray on sunscreen does not provide much protection when applied in strong winds. Here are some pictures.
Kennedy, Shayli and Markus
Nolan watching Bruno poop.
Karrigan
Shayli playing football
Markus and Kennedy
Reagan flying a kite.
Nolan...... playing.....video games.....shocking
He finally flew a kite!
Mac, eating cantaloupe and playing ball.
I have grumpy kids at my house. Kennedy and Karrigan have TAKS testing this week. Nolan has "practice TAKS". It is awful, how much pressure it put on the kids (and teachers) to excel at these tests. I know there needs to be some sort of test to measure learning, but there has to be a better way. It doesn't help that they were out late last night watching Wrestlemania with their Daddy. Reagan, Markus, Reagan's friend and myself stayed home and watched "Tangled", super cute movie!
I LOVE this song!! The video and the guy are kinda gay. lol But I still love the song. I keep hoping Randy will suddenly "POOF" into a romantic guy. So far, not so much! lol
Markus has Spina Bifida clinic in the morning. Hopefully we won't be there ALLLLL day. But I'm planning for the worst.
Markus has 11 teeth! He is crawling around now with his casts. He is happy and smiley. He has started telling the dogs "GO!" when he is eating in his highchair. He started taking a medicine that HOPEFULLY will help him stop throwing up at night. He has had about 3 doses now. I hope it can stop this easily!! I don't want him to have to go through invasive testing. He was up most of the night last night, I have no idea why. I am hoping for a peaceful night tonight since we have a busy day tomorrow.
We are on target to formally adopt Markus after April 31st! Karrigan pulled up the article where I first read about him. It is so hard for my brain to wrap around what all has happened since I first saw that picture. I have to say, once again, that God is amazing!! I will post after clinic tomorrow with all good news, I'm sure. :)
