Weekend

Nolan played a great season of basketball!  It almost makes me want to watch professional ball.  Almost!

It was a BEAUTIFUL weekend.  The big kids rode their bikes to the lake/park near our home.  Kennedy and I followed comfortably in the car.

The big girls and I have been watching the Twilight movies on dvd, along with my niece Megan.  We watched the first three over the weekend and have plans for the 4th tonight.  I read the books a while back, I'm slow, ok? I'm definitely not going to be a fanatic, but they have been fun.  Megan has talked me into reading "The Hunger Games".  Sounds scary and weird but she has  been backed up by many others.  The movie comes out soon, so I need to hurry!

Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with everyone fighting against you?
Twenty-four are forced to enter. Only the winner survives. In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. Each year, the districts are forced by the Capitol to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the Hunger Games, a brutal and terrifying fight to the death - televised for all of Panem to see.

Survival is second nature for sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who struggles to feed her mother and younger sister by secretly hunting and gathering beyond the fences of District 12. When Katniss steps in to take the place of her sister in the Hunger Games, she knows it may be her death sentence. If she is to survive, she must weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

WINNING WILL MAKE YOU FAMOUS. LOSING MEANS CERTAIN DEATH.

Current favs

My current favorite things said by Markus-
Yes, of course.
Guess what?
Spectacular!
Let's go.
Go away!

Reagan made A/B honor roll!  Haven't seen other report cards yet.
Some cute Reagan quotes- "Is jail kinda like time out for grown ups?". "I think the people at Sonic are mean, cause they don't let you eat inside.  They just make you sit in your car with your food".

Myself, Karrigan, Mac and Nolan have all been sick with sinus/cold/allergy/ear junk.  I can't wait for the house to be snot free!  So far only Nolan has required a doctor visit.  He had a bad ear infection, but he is much better now.

Karrigan started a new season of volleyball.  She wasn't going to play this season, but softball was canceled since there weren't enough players signed up for our division. :(  Volleyball was an easy second choice!
Nolan plays the last two games of the basketball season tomorrow.  One of those games determines if his team will make it to the play offs.  We haven't won a lot of games this season, but Nolan has made huge personal improvements!

Happy weekend!
